Ontario Cottage Vacation during March Break

Wow! What a great weekend we had in cottage country. Owning a Cottage Resort on Sand Lake makes family vacations a breeze. We don't have to go anywhere to enjoy the best winter getaway you can possibly imagine for families. We invited our friends this weekend so they could experience a great winter holiday up north.

We started out the weekend just relaxing and enjoy the breathtaking views over Perry Lake in Kearney and Emsdale in the Almaguin Highlands. The snow conditions were perfect to look at the snow covered trees and roads.

On Saturday the kids enjoyed snowmobiling on Sand Lake in Kearney. They even got to ride on the mini snowmobiles around the property at Sand Lake Cottages & Inn. After snowmobiling they went out to Edgewater Park Lodge to enjoy the OFSC year end barbecue for the snowmobile club. Later that day the kids went to Emsdale to enjoy winter toboganning. They finished their day off in Kearney at the Lions Park to enjoy skating on the outdoor skating rink. You could imagine after a day like that the kids were very tired but very happy.

On Sunday we decided to have a big breakfast to start off the day. We all go our snowsuits on again and headed to Huntsville in Muskoka to enjoy snowtubing at Rockridge Recreation Park. What a blast going down the big hills on snowtubes. The kids and adults were thrilled. We finished off the day with lunch inside the Chalet at Rockridge before we all headed home. We headed back to Emsdale and our friends headed to Toronto.

Book early to get the Perfect Ontario Cottage Rental

I own a Cottage Resort in the Almaguin Highlands near Muskoka and Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada.

I have discovered over the past few years that if you need a specific date for your Family Vacation, Romantic Getaway, Summer Vacation, Holiday Getaway you need to book early. If you decide you would like to go and enjoy a Cabin Rental during the month of July or August you need to book at least six months in advance. Most people that need the peak season which is mid July to mid August has to book at least nine months in advance.

I receive a lot of calls from dissappointed customers that call us last minute hoping to be able to rent a cottage. Sometimes there are cancellations but that does not happen too often in the Cottage Rental business.

If you are still looking right now to rent accommodations north of Toronto near Muskoka try Almaguin Vacation. This Vacation Directory will give you a selection of Cottage Resorts, Cabin Rentals, Private Cottages, Campgrounds, Inns, Bed & Breakfast, Hotels, Motels and Cottages. Almaguin Vacation will also give you a wide selection of things to do while you are on vacation. Try to book as far in advance as you can to get the best selection of options.
